TRASH

February 18, 2009

Well it was a crazy weekend but I’m sooooo happy because I got to do a TRASH shoot!! I had this scheduled in for Saturday with a couple of the girls from my Girls at Byron shoot but the rain was absolutely bucketing down and we had to cancel. But then on Sunday as I was driving home from a commercial shoot at Angourie Rainforest Resort I was struck with how beautiful the day was and I shouldn’t waste it. With that in mind I called a friend of mine, Laura, who’s always ready to pose for me and along with her friend Bek we headed over to The Pass at Byron Bay for a demo TRASH shoot.

The gorgeous Bek -

The stunning Laura -

After posing on and around the rocks it was time to get these girls in the water!

I’ve been getting a fair amount of interest in what a TRASH shoot is and usually when I tell people about it they kind of freak out and think that this dress they’ve just spent a lot of money on is going to get well – completely trashed. But TRASH shoots are essentially just about going somewhere you wouldn’t normally go in formal wear and having some fun getting some photos taken!! Now I have proof that the dresses will survive! Both these dresses are Mr K and retail for around the $300-$350 mark – I wore the pink one to my Yr 12 formal and the green one is from one of my sister’s weddings where I was a bridesmaid (so yes I am a little attached to these dresses) – they both came out completely unharmed and are now back hanging in my closet!

If you are interested in doing a TRASH shoot let me know -

Until next time

Favourite Image – January

I’m a little late I know! This has got to be my absolute favourite image from January. It’s from Sophie’s shoot and I can’t get enough of it – hope you like it too :-)

The Girls at Byron

February 4, 2009

FIVE teenage girls, a graffiti wall, The Pass and me with a camera! Exhausting but a lot of fun! The girls were a little nervous to begin with at the graffiti wall – with all the passers-by as well as their friends looking on as they worked it but they were a lot more relaxed at The Pass – which may or may not have had something to do with the surfer boys walking behind me!

Some of my fave group shots -

Alex working the wind -

I couldn’t resist posting this one – The Pass is such a beautiful place to shoot and the girls kind of fell into this one naturally whilst they were goofing around in the water!
