Sophie turns 5

January 27, 2009

This little cutie turns 5 tomorrow so her Mum decided to get some photos done of her before she goes off to school! Sophie was a delight to shoot – she’s very talkative and not camera shy at all – the hardest part was getting a photo where her mouth wasn’t moving as she told me all about her birthday party!

We built a lot of sandcastles – with decorations of course!

Sophie splashed about in the ocean while I shot from a safe distance.

And there was a lot of jumping!

She even drew a portrait of me in the sand!

But then a wave came and washed it all away…

Sweet!

Graffiti Art in Byron Bay

January 17, 2009

I’ve been really excited about this shoot – I love graffiti art and have wanted to do an urban senior session for soooooo long! Finally I got my chance! These were all shot in Byron Bay at a building site where some talented graffit artists have left their mark. Byron is busy at the best of times and yesterday was no exception but Laura wasn’t phased by any of it – she was stunning to shoot! And very resourceful with her outfit changes!

Caught mid hair flick!

My absolute favourite from the shoot!

It’s not really but sometimes it feels like it is – the wonderful world of post processing!

This is a post for all those other photographers out there – some of you will already be familiar with MCP Actions but others won’t be so this little post is all about showing those photographers the LIGHT!!

Post processing is a really big part of my workflow and actions are a fantastic way to speed it up – and give my photos a bit of oomph! I’ve never done any photoshop courses and what I know I’ve learnt off other photographers (namely Craig), experimenting and trawling the internet! Insert Jodi from MCP as a shining beacon of infinite wisdom here! Check out her blog for fantastic tips and ideas and then head on over to her store for some of the best and most user friendly actions around!

Just my friendly tip for the week! :-P
