I’ve been teasing you for over a week now with little sneak peeks from Adam & Evelyn’s wedding in Singapore and now it’s time to share the full blog post with you. Adam & Ev are two truly beautiful people who are surrounded by people from all walks of life who love & admire them. It made for a gorgeous wedding that had me feeling warm & fuzzy inside from start to finish. It was a wedding full of culture not only from Evelyn’s family but Adam’s “Danish Family” shared some of their traditions during the reception as well.
If you’ve been following the blog you would have seen some images of Ev getting ready so I’m going to kick things off with the ceremony.
The ceremony took place at Bollywood Veggies and while it was very hot and humid outside we had the luxury of staying inside the air conditioning for most of the morning.
These two images show part of the Chinese Tea Ceremony that took place prior to the Civil Ceremony. Adam & Evelyn served tea to important members of each family with the family members offering words of blessing and gifts to the bride in the form of jewellery or Li Shi Money. It was really touching to witness these little moments.

After the ceremony we all got to head back to the hotel and chill out for a couple of hours which for me meant lazing by the pool. It was short lived but very enjoyable. Then it was up to Adam & Ev’s suite to take some photos of the now married couple getting ready for the reception.
The two sides of Evelyn -

and no this was not setup Evelyn really was working away on her laptop whilst getting her hair and makeup done.

We were lucky enough that the hotel where we were staying is home to one of the best Japanese restaurants in Singapore ‘Keyaki‘ which is set amongst this idyllic Japanese garden that was perfect for some shots before the reception.

Then it was off to My Humble House for the reception. And what a reception it was! An eight course feast (yes EIGHT and they were all DIVINE), lots of laughter, funny stories, toasts and a whole other set of traditions this time courtesy of the Danish.
Kissing – whenever guests banged their knives and forks on their plates Adam & Ev had to stand on their chairs and kiss for all to see – luckily (I think) this only happened the once.

Dancing – during Adam & Ev’s first dance the crowd clapped and slowly moved closer and closer until a group of men grabbed Adam hoisted him into the air and cut the toes off his socks. There are two reasoning’s behind this (or from what I could tell) the first is to ensure that no sneaking around occurs and the second is so the bride will have to prove her sewing skills.

The guestbook – pretty cool hey?

Adam & Evelyn it was an absolute honour to be part of your special day – thank you for sharing it with me!
